Mlang town gov’t pushes anti-smoking campaign
MLANG, North Cotabato(The Mindanao Cross)—Mayor Joselito Pinol of this town led health personnel Thursday morning in ridding the town’s public market of cigarette ads including signages bearing the name of the stores.
The mayor’s move was meant to convince constituents, especially minors to stop smoking. It was also meant to discourage the sale of cigarettes in public places like the town public market, terminals and near the school premises.
Pinol was also alarmed by reports reaching to him that many teenagers and minors are now engaged in smoking.
The mayor also asks the village officials to also launch a massive campaign against smoking and conduct an education and information on bad effects of cigarette smoking to human health.
“Let us make Davao City as a model. With massive campaign against smoking, Davao was awarded a red orchid by the Department of Health,” Pinol said.> Add a comment >

“I was informed by our sources in the military. Actually they asked for the artist sketches of the December 31 blast that is why they compared the identity of those killed. And one of them matches with the suspects,” Pinol told dxND Radyo Bida here.> Add a comment >
