All set for Holy Cross shrine climb during Lenten Season

Mayor Russel M. Abonado and Father Tony Lupiba, discuss the upcoming Lenten Season activity at the Shrine of the Holy Cross, in Barangay New Rizal in Mlang, Cotabato.

 

The shrine every year welcome thousands of pilgrims that wanted to meditate and pray at the shrine, where the Holy

Cross erected by the Oblate of Mary Immaculate (OMI) fathers was located.

The Oblate fathers then turn over the hill and became a shrine to the diocese of Kidapawan.

 

Yearly an influx of faithful Catholic believers trooped at the shrine and commemorate the passion, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

One of the most memorable events is the Station of the Cross that begin at the foot of the hill going to the top.

Visitors as far as from Davao del Sur, Sultan Kufarat, Maguindanao , South Cotabato are expected to again visit the site.

Thousands of visitors also from various towns of North Cotabato are among the most numbers that visit the shrine, especially during Good Friday.

The LOcal Government Unit, on the other hand, provided security to the area to ensure that all pilgrims are safe during the Lenten Season activity.
