Hon. Emmanuel M. Abonado was born on March 16, 1974 to Mr. Jose Abonado and Mrs. Buen Magno-Abonado. He earned his degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Southern Mindanao in 2000.

He is married to Aymi Yee Abonado and is a devoted father to their daughter, Justine Emmynel Y. Abonado. Long before becoming the father of the town, he was already a hands-on father at home, loving, dependable, and proud of his family.

His career in public service began in 2016, where he dedicated 9 years of his professional lide as a Municipal Administrator. Known for his strong work ethic, hands-on leadership, and commitment to getting things done, he earned the respect of colleagues and constituents alike. In 2025, he was elected as the 10th Municipal Mayor of M’lang.

As Mayor, he is deeply committed to responsive and transparent governance. He believes public service must be fast, sincere, and free from unnecessary bureaucracy. Whether it's responding to emergencies, assisting the most vulnerable, or pushing for meaningful local development, Mayor Doc Awing Abonado shows that good leadership is not about position, but action.
