Mayor Russel M. Abonado, appeals to fellow government employees to always wear a smile in serving the clients, transacting business at the town hall. The mayor echoed his requests during the monthly convocation program attended by the municipal government employees held at the municipal gymnasium on January 27, 2020. “Let us always be polite and smile while we are offering our services to our constituents,” Mayor Abonado said.

He also instructed each employee and respective department managers to wear their identification card so that they will be recognized by the clients at all times.

He said the wearing office ID is a big help once there are complaints from the clients that have not satisfied with the services of each office at the LGU.

Mayor Abonado also announced during the convocation that the LGU has purchased 4.4 hectares purposely for the relocation site of illegal settlers living alongside the Mlang River. “We will relocate the residents of the Tinago area so that we can go on for the development and make it as our local tourist site just like in Iloilo City,” Mayor Abonado said.

The LGU Mlang has purchased at least four areas intended for the relocation of the informal settlers that will be affected by the ongoing road widening.

These areas are located in Sitio Paglaum, Barangay Poblacion B, Barangay Lepaga, New Rizal and Dalipe. Meantime, Mayor Abonado also asked the LGU employees to build a house in the lot intended to them the soonest possible time.

Mayor said if they failed to construct a decent home, he might give the lot to the informal settlers that are still living at the road rights of way. “Please patukod na kamo sang balay kay kon indi gani basi mahatag ko ina sa iban,” Mayor Abonado said.
