SB assures financial support for Tennis player from Mlang that will compete in Australia in March, 2020

Mlang Vice Mayor Joselito Pinol, asks the members of the 20th Sangguniang Bayan of the town of Mlang to extend financial support for Tennielle Bedua Madis who will compete for International Tennis Federation on March 22-27 in Australia.
Rommel Madis and Tennielle herself were present during the 23rd Regular Session of the Sannguniang Bayan on Wednesday, January 22 held at the Vice Mayor Bernie Abasquez hall.
Mr. Madis, narrated that at the young age of 5, her daughter showed interest in playing tennis.
“In fact she was the one who wakes me up early in the morning to accompany her at the tennis court,” Sir Madis disclosed.
At early age, the young Tennielle was exposed in various tennis competitions in zone, district, provincial and Palarong Pambansa.
She also competed in the international arean, particularly in South East Asia and in Asia giving her chances to compete with elite tennis players across the globe.
To defray, the young lady expenses while in Australia, friends and relatives pledged financial support to realize her dream of playing her favorite sports in Australia.
“I am very proud that i will represent the country and the town of Mlang in the competitions. This is a dream come true for a Mlangeno to become member of the Philippine team who was given the opportunity to show my talents and ability in the international scene,” Tennielle, told the SB members present at the session hall.
Responding to Tennielle’s appeal, the Sangguniang Bayan through councilor Daniel Berja, pledged to give P50, 000 as financial grants.
Berja said the councilors will contribute at least P5, 000 each in order to raise the amount which will be given to Tennielle, before she left for Australia in March.
Vice Mayor Joselito Pinol on the other hand also pledge to give his own financial assistance, but he did not disclose the exact amount.
“I will also give. But if how much it’s just secret.” The vice mayor said.
Meantime, Mayor Russel Abonado, also pledged financial assistance.
Both top leaders of the town of Mlang claimed that the town is now becoming famous because of the accomplishments not only in infrastructures but in producing top players and achievers.
Many professionals now in their field of specializations are being employed in different areas in the Philippines.
“It is only showed that there are plenty of skilled and sports-minded people in Mlang. As your leaders, we are here to support your endeavors,” Vice Mayor Pinol concluded. (Williamor A. Magbanua)
